It is most probable that the dogs brought in by the Spanish conquistadores, like the Perro de Presa, Alano, Perro de Presa Mallorquin had the most influence in the blood of the most important fighting dogs. The Alano was also a white dog (or mostly white) which showed similarities with the Dogo Argentino at this time. How did Antonio Nores Martinez work with his crossings ?
His basis breeding
dog was always the old fighting dog: Perro de Pelea
Cordobes. When the result of the numerous crossing showed
a common similarity, some families were founded. With
these families he made also crossings. Important families
were: How they proceeded: On the 2nd December 1956 Antonio died during a hunting trip; he was murdered. This terrible event caused the removing of the Dogobreeding (the centre of it) from Cordoba to La Pampa, Santa Rosa. Here Augustin Nores Martinez lived. This all caused a decrease of the Dogo population in Cordoba. With the dogs from La Pampa and San Luis he formed the breed. Later he replaced the centre to Esquel, Chubut and introduced the qualities of the Dogo as a wild boar hunter to the people there. He achieved the official recognition of the F.C.A. at 1964. His breedingline "Del Chubut" was registrated basis for the pure-breeding of the breed Dogo-Argentino. Augustin breeded from 3-2-1954 till his death in 1978 1031 registrated puppies. Important names were: Agallas (Gladiator del Chubut X Nanduty del Chubut), Tilcara, Taco del Totoral and Mayocco de Chubut. This last Dogo had lots of offspring in Pedigrees from Austria. He also was the first F.C.A. Dogo-Argentino; F.C.A 1 (Mayocco del Chubut) |
